Semi-permanent Make-up - Types of Brow's:

At The Beauty Boudoir in Wyton, Huntingdon, we offer a wide range of Permanent Make-up treatments, below we will delve into the different types of eyebrow treatments offered.

What Are Hairstroke Brows? The hair-stroke eyebrow method is created by drawing hair-like strokes with a permanent make-up device. A very fine needle will deposit cosmetic pigment into the dermal layer of the skin. These super-fine strokes will resemble single natural, eyebrow hairs.

I get asked all the time about the differences between Microblading and tattooed eyebrows and semi-permanent vs permanent eyebrows.

The terms typically refer to the same thing: placing medical-grade pigment just under the skin to create the look of hair strokes or powder-like makeup but with Microblading, a handheld tool is used, whereas tattooed brows uses a cosmetic tattoo machine.

Hairstroke brows are ideal for those who want a natural style, don't wear a huge amount of makeup within their brows on a daily basis, have sparse eyebrows but desire a fuller, thicker look, with a dry/normal skin type. Oily skin is not ideal for this brow style, as the oily residue with encourage the strokes to merge, losing the hairstroke effect over time.

What Are Powder/Ombre Brows?

Powder brows is a cosmetic permanent makeup technique designed to create eyebrows with a soft powder effect, very similar to powdered makeup.

The powder effect is achieved with a shading technique using a permanent makeup device. The soft makeup look means that the tails of the brows are darker and fade to a lighter shade at the bulb (fronts) of the brows, giving them a pixelated, subtle look.

The ideal candidates for powdered brows are those who wear make up within their brows on a daily basis and all skin types can have this brow style.

What Are Combination Brows?

Combo brows are a combination of two forms of permanent techniques: Hairstroke and shading (Powder/Ombre). The powder effect is applied to the body of the brow using a Medical grade permanent makeup device to give the brow its fullness & definition and the fronts "bulbs" of the brow is filled with hair-like strokes. Combination brows are the best of both worlds, working in perfect harmony to achieve a beautifully natural-yet-defined brow.
